Running on 100% renewable energy boosts Candor TechSpace, Rajarhat, Kolkata’s cachet as an environment steward
The largest SEZ in East India, Candor TechSpace, Rajarhat, Kolkata has achieved another milestone. The office park is now powered fully by renewable energy. It’s the first corporate campus in the state to garner this distinction.
The achievement is partly attributable to the property’s partnership with the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (WBSEDCL), which supplies renewable energy to private companies. A portion of the renewable energy powering the campus is generated on site, via a large solar plant installation. Built in 2020, this solar plant is expected to abate CO2 emissions by 5890 tonnes by 2045.
This development boosts the office park’s cachet as an environmental steward. Other notable green features at the property include rainwater harvesting and water recycling systems, a lush central lawn, water bodies equipped with light fountains, and a bird sanctuary.
At Brookfield Properties, we place utmost importance on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) parameters, to create long-term value for all stakeholders. This milestone is a testament to our sustainability-first planning. More importantly, it’s a significant step towards our goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2040.
